The Viva el Café Festival will return in March and will gather coffee lovers, baristas and tasters.
With the phrase "Coffee is in life. Life is in coffee", the organization of the activity will focus on the diversity of audiences that will be able to attend.
On Saturday March 2 and Sunday March 3, all coffee lovers will have their appointment at the Antigua Aduana to enjoy the widest offer for the enjoyment of this beverage, accompanied by a rich cultural agenda and in a charming and convivial atmosphere, which this year will bring many surprises.
"Since 2016 the Viva el Café Festival has been the great coffee party and we are pleased to bring it back to the thousands of Costa Ricans who are waiting for it to live a unique experience with their families. This time, the Association of Fine Coffees (SCACR), the Chamber of Coffee Roasters and the production company Tecnología Express, join forces to bring this national event with an attractive agenda that can not be missed", said Noelia Villalobos, director of SCACR.
Within the agenda of the festival, the National Baristas and Cuppers Championships will take place, where the best exponents of these disciplines will compete to represent the country internationally.
Coffees for all tastes, prepared in ingenious ways and accompanied by music, art and an endless number of activities, will be the perfect accompaniment to celebrate the summer.
"Coffee is a pleasure for all the senses and a beverage that has it all, that is the feeling we want you to take away from this Viva el Café", said Irene Saenz, from the Chamber of Roasters.
The Association of Fine Coffees of Costa Rica organizes these championships with the support of the Costa Rican Coffee Institute (Icafé). In the event, coffee professionals will exhibit their talent and excellence in a healthy competition environment, highlighting the unique quality of Costa Rican coffee and strengthening its position as a reference in the world of high quality coffee.
The champions will represent Costa Rica in the world competitions to be held in Busan, Korea, from May 1 to 5, the World Barista Championship and Chicago, United States, from April 11 to 13 and the World Cuppers Championship.
Villalobos commented that the objective of the activity at a national level is to create a coffee culture and assured that these competitions recognize the potential of the professionals and also allow a space to celebrate the golden bean.
