Application Fee

The additional expenses you will face when applying for your residencies, such as government fees and additional fees. (Government Fees per person)

Make a deposit to Immigration of $ 50 $200 $1 (DGME) by bank deposit. Remember that you must deposit the payment at the Bank of Costa Rica (BCR).   Your receipt must indicate your full name as on your passport.

IMPORTANT:  You must provide JAROS with this receipt before submitting your application. 


What Costa Rica Residency Government Fees?

Issuance of Residency ID Card “DIMEX”

Make a deposit to Immigration of $ 98-123 USD or more (DGME) by bank deposit. The price depends on the category you choose.

Social Security and heaith care program "CCSS"

Residency applicants must become members of CAJA CCSS. With this Care Program, you receive medical treatment (from check-ups and prescription drugs to major surgeries.

Change of status fee:

Make a deposit to Immigration of $ 200 (DGME) by bank deposit. You need to pay this fee to change your status from. You must deposit the payment at Banco de Costa Rica (BCR). Your receipt must indicate your full name as on your passport.

Important: You must provide JAROS with this receipt before submitting your application.

Guarantee Deposit:

The purpose of this deposit is for the Costa Rican government to have funds available to send you back to your country in case you are deported for any reason. This deposit is refundable, and you can return it if you end your residency in Costa Rica or when you become a citizen of Costa Rica through naturalization. You must make this deposit to Immigration "DGME" once you approve your residency application.

 

So now you have your Residency in Costa Rica! Remember, that after a certain period of time you will need to proceed with your Residency Renewal.
